Changan's electric vehicle lineup has become even more exciting with the launch of the Deepal S05 SUV in the Chinese market. The Deepal S05 joins the company’s diverse range of models, including the L07, S07, and G318 off-road SUV.
The S05 is available in both electric (EV) and extended-range electric (EREV) versions to cater to various consumer needs. The EV variant features a powerful 175 kW electric motor, providing a 510 km CLTC range. In contrast, the EREV model combines a 72 kW 1.5L range extender with a 160 kW electric motor, offering a 200 km CLTC pure electric range, supported by 56.12 kWh and 27.28 kWh lithium iron phosphate batteries.
The Deepal S05 showcases the brand’s “interstellar flying wing” design, characterized by its smoothly rounded body, unique closed front, and split LED headlights that enhance its futuristic appeal. The rear design is equally striking, featuring a high-mounted brake light and a double-layer through-type taillight assembly, complemented by a stylish raised ducktail.
Measuring 4620 mm in length, 1900 mm in width, and 1600 mm in height, with a 2880 mm wheelbase, the S05 is compact yet spacious enough to comfortably accommodate five passengers.
Inside, the cockpit is equipped with a 15.4-inch 2.5K central control screen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, an AR-HUD, and a D-shaped steering wheel. Standard features on the S05 include five high-definition cameras, five millimeter-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic radars, enabling advanced driving assistance functions.
The Deepal S05 also features 35 storage compartments, a panoramic sunroof, rear air-conditioning vents, 64-color ambient lighting, a 14-speaker audio system, an 8-way electric adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support, and 50W wireless charging.
